Essentials of WAIS-III Assessment is an excellent and refreshing book. Kaufman does his usual outstanding job of explaining context in a simple but technical manner. The book covers the new WAIS-III and compares it to the WAIS-R. This made it easy to reference for those who are familiar with the WAIS-R. I really found his Rapid Reference sections extremely helpful. Kaufman writes in an outstanding fashion when he continues throughout the book highlighting does and don’ts. At the end of the book he goes over some case examples. He explains the history of the test, which may be unnecessary as anyone using this book should already know the history. An all around, outstanding reference book. I would recommend it to anyone administering the WAIS-III.
