This book is written for a beginner, fresh out of Seminary. It is a good guidelines book, but in no way should it be used in a “one size fits all” manner. It goes over some ideas to cover when starting to assist your parishioners in small crises, and premarriage counseling. The book covers many different areas. Unfortunately, most Pastors and Ministers are not going to sit down and write out a schedule of what to say at every counseling session that they have. There are too many variables when you are working with people. This book is written using an “If…Then…” setting. In counseling, this could really cause some problems. I would recommend this book only as a guideline, and not for anything else.
